Having
explained thestate of mind of a Sthitha Prajna, Sri Krishna concludes that this
is the state of the Brahman. He tells Partha, “If a person reaches this state
of mind, he is no more deluded. Even at the end of one’s life, if a person is
able to be in this state of mind, he attains to that motionless state called
Brahman, which is real freedom. When the mind is in constant movement with
desires, thoughts, ideas and worries, it is in bondage. When it is still and
motionless, it is completely in the state of Brahman and that is true nirvana or emancipation. With this
verse concludes the second chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, a text on Yoga, an
Upanishad and a dialogue between sri Krishna and Arjuna called Sankhya Yoga or
the Yoga of Knowledge. - SS

Thank you indeed for the fresh post and explanation. But how does one break the habitual stream of thoughts? Give us some clues or a way to stop those involuntary rise of thoughts. Even during studies, prayers or chanting, it is an intruder. What is that trigger/magic/secret to make that shift? Hope you would post your suggestions on this. Thank you.
Thank you for setting up this blog site and availing to us this treasure of 'bamboo wisdom' in simple language.
The content is so valuable that it cannot be measured.
The site is designed well - simple and beautiful with that exquisite kalamkari 'gita upadesam', soothing colours of yellow background and easy to read fonts.
Looking forward to read other chapters as well.
Agree completely with the above comments. The nomenclature "Bamboo Wisdom" is also a beauty and so very apt!!Congratulations on selecting that title, it throws up numerous facets, dimensions and visuals for me that i have few words to express them all. Such a feeling, but alas i'm not a poet to capture its essence !!
Thank you once again for introducing the Gita to us verse by verse.
